Product Development

Andrés’s journey from Cabo de Gata’s coastlines to cutting-edge product development is driven by one thing: curiosity. Andrés Egea Tripiana, a valued member of BioAnalyt’s Product Development team, brings curiosity, creativity, and a deep commitment to impact into his daily work. Originally from Almería, a sun-drenched city in the southeast of Spain. Andrés grew up surrounded by palm trees and the Mediterranean Sea. Almería is one of the sunniest cities in Europe, and its coastline is a place he continues to cherish.

In 2018, Andrés moved to Germany for an internship opportunity. What started as a short-term plan quickly turned into something more permanent, as he was offered a full-time role shortly after arriving. Around the same time, he met his partner, and the two have lived together in Germany ever since.

Despite now calling Germany home, Andrés remains closely connected to Spain. He tries to return once or twice a year to spend time by the sea in a quiet coastal village called Cabo de Gata.

“It would mean a lot to see something I’ve worked on being used around the world.”

A Scientific Mind in the Making

From a young age, Andrés showed a keen interest in science and experimentation. “I was always a very curious child, maybe in a dangerous way, I used to mix household chemicals just to see what happened. Burning alcohol was top entertainment for me.” This early fascination with reactions and mechanisms evolved into a deeper interest in how things worked at the deeper level, eventually leading him into the world of science and technology.

Before joining BioAnalyt, Andrés worked at a laboratory focused on food safety, ensuring that fruits and vegetables sold in supermarkets were within the legal limits for pesticide residues. He remembers the unique experience of recognizing fruit lots at the store that he had tested in the lab just days earlier. “It gave me a real sense of the connection between lab work and the real world.”

Bringing Ideas to Life

Andrés joined BioAnalyt with a strong desire to contribute to something meaningful. “What drew me here was the idea that what we do has a positive impact in the world,” he says.

Within the Product Development team, Andrés thrives on the challenge of creating solutions that don’t yet exist. “There’s something incredibly exciting about the early stages of a project, when everything still seems possible,” he shares. “You’re working out how to solve a problem from scratch. Testing ideas in the lab, even if they fail, is always a thrill.”

His goal is to see the products he helps develop reach the market and create real value. “It would mean a lot to see something I’ve worked on being used around the world.”

Outside the Lab

When he’s not working on new solutions in the lab, Andrés dedicates his time to two major passions: his family and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a grappling-based martial art he has practised since 2021.

Whether solving complex technical challenges or training on the mat, Andrés approaches life with focus, curiosity, and heart. At BioAnalyt, the team is proud to count him among the people who help bring meaningful innovation to life.
